COVID booster certificate

So much for the mygov portal, you can get anything you want except a COVID booster certificate, I've been calling their helpline for weeks,and a recording goes on and on and eventually break's down. Had the jab in December. The pharmacy has uploaded the information, but still no certificate. Anyone else in limbo?

I never got a booster but shouldn't your existing cert be good for another while?

Looks like the certs will be going the way of the bows and arrows at the end of next month

Yep I reckon boosters , certs the whole long will be like the evoting machines in 6 months. And we'll all wonder did the lockdowns make any difference at all in altering the trajectory and casualties of the virus. Did they even prolong the time before the virus became endemic . The vaccine made a difference but did the lockdowns.

The opposite in fact. Your initial certificate expires after 270 days from tomorrow and you'll need a booster cert to travel anywhere in the EU if you're outside that limit. So if your second vaccine was mid July like a lot of people, you'll need a booster cert from mid March

I requested my updated certificate with booster included without issue from:

It was emailed to me within a day or two.

I just got a booster card at the vaccination centre so I better get looking to get the updated cert online…

pity there wasn’t some way to issue it when you were getting boosted..a lot of older / non tech savvy people will be struggling a bit… you’d say it’s more resources at the centres but it will be more resources anyway manning phones…638,000 people approximately are in the over 65 bracket in this country and a reasonable percentage in the upper echelons of that age bracket will either not have the nouse to do it online, might not even have a computer or indeed a social / family contact to help. Anybody know if a way around that exists. ? Such as ordering it by phone ?

I too requested an updated certificate ,I,m at over 5 requests now,and have received 5 certificates that are not up to date with the booster shot I got in December, the gov site does not cater to fix this problem. HSE can't do anything and the helpline is hopeless.

I think I read somewhere that when you do get the digital cert there is some rigmarole to upload it to the app, youve to use two phones to scan it off one of them to then upload it. Can anyone confirm?

Get in touch with the place where you got the booster. I had a similar issue where I got my booster before Xmas and didn't get the updated cert until a month later. The staff in the places doing these are inputting the data manually through a HSE portal, so it's possible they haven't gotten around to yours yet, or possibly had a typo when they did put yours in.

open your email on the laptop desktop or whatever other device you have and hold up your phone and it will scan straight in.

OP I had an absolute nightmare trying to get mine as my original doses had been abroad. I just had to leave my laptop open on that poxy live chat for literal hours until someone would f*cking answer, and I had to do that several times as they kept making up dates on me. I'd say to keep using the live chat, it eventually works, but god is it a struggle to achieve anything on it!

It's not a big deal. You have to scan in the QR code so you can either use another phone to take a pic of it, or do what I did and printed it out and scanned it into the Covid app.

I was just surprised to hear people going to mygov portal , I presumed OP referring to MyGovdID portal but maybe I misunderstood, that portal for Revenue, welfare etc .

I got my booster in early December at my GP (Immune compromised) , got my updated cert very quickly after Stephen Donnelly announced the date they were being sent out, just surprised people having difficulty getting them albeit all they are needed for is travel .

Yes same here.

We did have issues with the original cert because some of the details were not properly uploaded so between that and getting through on the helpline seems to be the problem for some people.

Got my cert in the post yesterday from Revenue without applying for it, boosted late November. Went to the app, deleted the old cert and scanned in the new cert , all updated.
