Which Speakers?

Hi,

current setup is Marantz PM6002 amp and CD6002 with 25 year old Heco Cantata 550 floorstanders. I am thinking of replacing the speakers

Looking at the website, the Q Acoustics 3050 or the Wharfdale Diamond 230 are within my budget. Which would you recommend for my current amp and CD player?

Secondly, I’d like to add a network streamer to my setup in order to access music on a NAS and also Spotify. What would you recommend, considering the Amp only supports analogue input?

Between the two I think the Wharfedales would be a great addition to the system, they're a great price and a fantastic sounding speaker.

If you could stretch the budget a little bit I would recommend the Fyne F302 which would blow them both out of the water:

For a network streamer you could check out the Excellent Yamaha WXAD10 priced at 169.00 Euro

Hi guys - big difference in price for the music server! Is the Cambridge Audio unit not designed to work with active speakers? Also I notice you didn't mention the Marantz NA6006 - just wondering why you recommended the Yamaha and CA units over this?

Back to my question re speakers - I'll go with your suggestion re the Fyne Audio speakers. What speaker cable are you recommending?

The Marantz is a great streamer as well but we're completely sold out of them at the moment! All of the network streamers would be designed to work with an integrated amplifier. The Cambridge would give the best sound quality but if you're looking for an alternative around the price of the Marantz I would recommend the Audiolab 6000N:

For speaker cable for the Fynes I would recommend the QED XT25 cable which is a fantastic mid range cable:
