What is Ennis Road area like?

I asked before about apartments in the city centre and they were not recommended. I viewed a few and I saw why.

I am now looking at the Ennis Road area and want to see what is that area like?

Apartment/house will be rented to a family member attending college, 1 room will be rented or I will leave empty as I could be staying there on occasion for work.

Opinions welcome or if there is a location better? Budget is small, max €200k, less if the property needs work. Thanks.

Lots of passing traffic, easy walk into town. A few undesirables hang around the amusement place next to Lidl.

Overall, I'd have no problem living along the Ennis Rd.

There's a number of family homes from the Strand Hotel out as far as Lawn Tennis Club, there's a few rental units along that route too. I'm guessing the location would make the rental market for professionals rather than those on schemes or students. There's an apartment block just opposite The Ardhu Bar then there's nothing along the Ennis Rd until you get to Lidl. There are a number of housing estates just off or facing onto the Ennis Rd, the majority of those estates are family homes too

Ennis rd area is a very desirable location due to the fact that you can walk to town, you have facilities like schools, LIT, Thomond park, Jetland SC, Ennis rd retail park not to mention a number of nice walks along the bank and Westfields all within walking distence too. I don't think you can really go to badly

Its a lovely area and you will be lucky to get a room for under 500 a month, if lucky at that.

Watch out for imitations.

I have seen places advertised as "Ennis Road, Limerick" see the red stars on the accompanying image as an example. These are instances that I have seen for myself.

Also, the Ennis Road is a highly sought after location and the accompanying image will give you a very very rough timeline and location indicator with the blue boxes as for how long that address has been coveted. Apologies for all the qualifiers, but I re-iterate, it's "a rough guide".

And as you can see, the Ennis road stretches over 3km in length -it's actually longer -However, the black lines indicates general areas of residential development that would or could technically call itself "Ennis Road".
