Building Momentum Pay Agreement

Comes into effect the 1st October 21 but the circular about its implementation has not been released yet so people will be a few weeks late getting it

The one in Feb is a bargaining one so not sure if that's paid out

Then Oct 22 is another 500 or 1%

The one in Feb is for Public not Civil Servants.

I think for the civil service it’s 1% in Feb 2022 and 1% again in October.

At the rate inflation is climbing, even with 2% increase this year you'll be 3% worse off by the end of 2022. There's going to have to be more increases than this 2% planned.

Agreed. There will be louder calls for acceleration of pay increase the longer the year goes on and people realise how everything is going up in price. Groceries up 5% on average since start of January for example.

My understanding of it at the time was that the increases for the Building Momentum plan were scaled back because it was uncertain how Covid would affect the economy. Hopefully they take that into account when putting together the next plan.
