You have to think the Taliban are now asking for money and aid to feed afghans the same Taliban who Said they would bring peace and prosperity to afghanistan.

Leave them to it ,I'm sure the ordinary afghans will soon start asking questions of them could get very dangerous for the Taliban

    Taliban and a woman’s rights don’t compute.

these pricks are so backwards they don’t believe women and men ought to work together in the sa workplaces…and they actively block access to young girls being educated.

All of the kids being sold are mainly for forced marriages. The children stay with the family until they reach puberty then older men marry them having paid the dowry years earlier. Barbaric **** practice. Just read one account prompted by your post from a woman whom had to sell her kidney to pay for medical bills for her sons and husband who was very ill.

The 20 years that the US were in Afghanistan will be looked back on by Afghans as the best 20 year's in a long long time ..maybe ever. Population increased 100% due to better hospitals, infrastructure etc. The US failed in Afghanistan not because of a lack of commitment, or cash, but because neighboring Country's did not want a successful and independent Afghanistan. Now it seems that all those advancements and benefits will be lost. For sure, with the Taliban in charge, a continued population increase is very doubtful, not to mention infrastructure decay. Now the ones who wanted the US gone, can step up to the mark and help the Afghans.

So Iraqi soldiers have thrown newborns out of incubators, Libyan soldiers have sucked down viagra in order to have a big hard-on and rape people. Venezuelans are so starving that they have to eat flamingoes (they must all be dead now since there were only 30,000 flamingoes in the country at the time of the report), ...NOW Afghan women are lining up to show their scars after selling their organs.

So...do they have to sell a kidney for a bowl of rice and yet their surgery looks nice?

Who makes this crap up? And who actually believes it?

Gatling...if someone was so poor as to have to sell a kidney for food then how or WHO would treat them afterwards? Yeah there are throngs of women about to sell their kidneys and there are doctors lining up to patch them up.

    And in other news .....

nothing we can do about it…. Terrorists and ghouls run the country now.

a war costing in excess of 2.3 trillion dollars..That has by and large failed. Approximately 3500 coalition troops were killed..

Afghanistan is as safe as when the US arrived…ie.. it’s NOT a bit safe….

Taliban currently are committing acts of mass murder / revenge on afghan police and army…. Current and retired.. they are barbaric specimens so why is anybody surprised about them treating women or anyone appallingly… ? they simply have a different value system, value life differently..

last year, pandemic etc we took in over 1000 people from Afghanistan, gave them…shelter, medical cards, food. Not much more we can do..

Afghanistan has a population of just under 40 million…woman’s rights will not be enabled by the war, probably the opposite….

If anyone really expected the taliban to bring peace or prosperity Wtf? Like electing Hitler to the committee for human rights? They use violence against women protestors they want women to stay at home 90 per cent of the time, the stop women young girls from going to school, they break or destroy all musical television they haven't made the burqa mandatory probably cos they are trying to negotiate with the west to get money financial aid 99 per cent of bank assets are frozen right now in all country's inflation in rising oil gas prices are rising factory's are closing because of energy problems lack of supply to cpus chips electronic items

They are trying to send the country back to the 17th century in terms of human rights rights for women by basically saying go home the only place for a woman is the kitchen

Imagine if 90 per cent of women decided 2moro ill stay and home read the bible all day

Most shops cafes restaurants would close or offer restricted menus our hospitals would probably close due to lack of staff nurses female medical workers the taliban know about violence threatening people getting payments from drug dealers to let em transport drugs across borders. Women are the engine of large parts of the economy retail and health care childcare and women are not allowed by the taliban to travel alone without a male escort

Expecting the taliban to manage a modern economy is like asking drug addicts to run our railway system or asking 100 random taxi drivers to maintain a nuclear power station they have neither the expertise or the experience to run a country things like water supply's electrical networks need constant maintenance and upgrades it's hard to do this when most middle class people are giving up working cos they don't get paid the banks are closed most of the time even the taliban find it hard to get paid i don't see any sign of financial sanctions being lifted by the USA the taliban are like Cuba but at least Cuba had a well organised economy workers get paid thru can trade with some country's

this is like an experiment how long can a country go with no money coming in limited food aid and government workers not working but its serious cos people are struggling to buy food there has to be someone like Obama who can act as a honest broker and make a deal to improve the situation by talking to both sides taliban the EU and also the us givernment

What a coincidence that only women are having sell their kidneys and children. It’s almost as if this evokes more sympathy with the readers of the highly esteemed news outlets.

    Who really cares?

We should just accept that some countries belong in the dark ages.

Headline of"male relatives force women to sell their kidneys" maybe closer to the truth. I wonder when we will see the headline "father and husband sells himself into slavery so wife and daughters can eat"

If you're claiming the story is made up, conspiracy theories forum might be more to your liking.

There must be a happy medium somewhere, they treat women terribly and restrict their rights while in the west we treat them too well and give them too much freedom. Somewhere between the two would be ideal, kind of like what we used to have.

I seen it years ago in National Geographic (I think), it was happening in India.

"We" in the West treat Women too well and give them too much freedom?

    🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

What century are you living in?

Like what we used to have? The Magdalene Laundries? Mother and Baby Homes?

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

You can't enforce change on a people. They have to come to it by themselves. The Western nations went through long periods of social change but were remarkably backward by our modern standards... Afghanistan will change eventually as a result of exposure to foreign ideas (which has already happened) and their own desire for change (which hasn't). Africa saw centuries of Western influence through colonialism, and still retain many practices/beliefs we consider to be barbaric.. and they'll continue until they decide for themselves that they're no longer acceptable. They won't end because westerners see them to be wrong.

One area i would not accept a happy "medium". Everybody should be treated equally and held to the same standards and responsibility too

Reminded me of this photo of a conference in Saudi on the subject of “Women in Society” and ne’er a woman present 😂

Except people don't really want that. They want preferential treatment for their preferred group, usually seeking to justify that preference by saying X needs more help than Y for whatever reason... and the preferences remain even after the help is no longer needed. Equality is a pipedream.. a lovely idea but in practice, it's not sustainable. Just look at social change in regards to gender in the West... each and every time that equality is reached, there are demands to help a particular gender to give them a boost of some sort, which ensures that they are no longer equal..

The trick is ignoring the unreasonable demands. Without the oxygen of publicity or quango funded nonsense , most would disappear

by equality I mean equality of treatment, not equality of outcome

Organ selling is big business, and it happens in a lot country's ( predominantly poor, undeveloped ones.) Wealthy X needs a kidney, and the word goes out. Type match etc, and a "Donor" is found, and deal struck. The donor is taken to a hospital, and the kidney removed. Donor is looked after until he / she recovers. 48hrs ( or less) kidney is in its new home. Job done. The above is best case scenario.

Reasonable demands will still counter equality... and that includes equality of treatment. It's reasonable (for many people) that quotas should be in place at employment to ensure that enough women or Black people are represented.. but the very nature of a quota is that it bypasses eligibility based on skills/education/etc, by ensuring that something (that we don't have a choice over, like gender/race) becomes more important. It's reasonable, for many people, that women should have female only safe areas, but it's unreasonable that men should have the same (as reflected in the law)...

As I said, people give preferential treatment to their preferred groups, and that counters equality. The objective should be that race, gender, or whatever, should not be a important factor/distinction between two people, but as time goes by, these qualifiers are becoming more important... not less. That's why equality is a pipedream.

For about 200 billion they could have transformed the economy to such a degree that the locals would have thrown out the Taliban years ago. For that money it should be a South Korea style democracy with modern cities and first world life expectancy. Instead we have one of the most backward States in the world. You would wonder at the intelligence levels of the people who rule over us.

Yes it happens to anyone who fits the criteria and who is desperate enough, regardless of gender.

Afghanistan is the most dangerous, violent and fûcked up and barbaric country on the planet…..

god help the planet if these psycho fûcks the Taliban ever had the nouse, resources and ability to modernise and mobilise into a coherent mobile war unit.

they are smart enough to know their strengths and weaknesses however…

you could throw money, resources, arms at the Afghans but when their army 180,000 strong couldn’t defeat the Taliban…of which there are approx 80,000 in number… when the US army numbering whatever with coalition troops tried for 20 years, 20 years with all sorts of technology, arms, intelligence, efforts, and couldn’t defeat them…

they are relentlessly barbaric individuals… they restrict education, trample on woman’s rights, restrictions on accessing independent news, the internet ..4-5% of Afghan kids receive education beyond primary..they bomb schools, murder teachers, banned music… anything cultural….

    its beyond backwards….

its sad but it is what it is… we have to realise that as a global community maybe Afghanistan is too big a problem to get solved, too big a country....too mountainous, too rugged, too tribal….preservation of our wellbeing needs to be paramount…almost 40 million people live there… there is nothing the world or Ireland can do for them, without risking our safety.

Haven't seen this on Irish media, still they would prefer to moan on about how Ireland is such a hellhole for women to live in.
