How to get Eircom alarm to work without Eircom?!

Hi

we have moved into a new house and there is an old Eircom alarm, the previous owner hasn’t used it for a few years and can’t remember the code. We

would like to use it but just independently, without Eircom but apparently we need the engineers code, anyone know this or how to get it without paying for it please? Thanks

I don't know but Eircom sold it 9 years ago, it doesn't have anything to do with Eir now.

Drop front lid on the panel and enter 54321, if it says please select from start menu you have access to change the user code.

Press add, press access code button till you hear master code, press done, enter new code and press done again.

New user code should be set as you set it.

thanks so much for your reply. ive given that a go but it doesn’t seem to accept the numbers. When I drop the lid it says please use numbered keys to enter your access code. I press the keys 54321, there’s no sounds as I press them, and it just keeps repeating please use numbered keys to enter your access code.

Unfortunately you would need the engineer code to access the codes to change.

Alternately, you would need the system defaulted and reprogrammed.

You could get in touch with PhoneWatch and see what they suggest. It might be able to be setup again. They’ve moved onto different equipment but I assume they still support those systems.

Their phone number has changed to 0818 753 753

1850 numbers were scrapped and they’ve nothing to with Eir and haven’t had for almost a decade. So don’t ring Eir as they won’t know what you’re on about.

Also all of those systems can use mobile monitoring. They don’t need a landline. Modern Eir landlines aren’t necessarily even reliably compatible with alarm modems anymore either. Their exchanges are being replaced by VoIP technology, many already have been swapped out since last year.

then I input a new code and it just says invalid

Brilliant.

Close up the lid and press the door and windows button then enter your new code.

If you want PIRs on then hit the motions button after you put in the user code, this would be when no one is in the house unless a trap pack with just motions is installed.

Hi I’m back again! So we set the alarm and then opened the front door and it didn’t go off, also tried opening windows and the same. We tried again including the motion sensors which do flash when walking by and again no alarm activated. Any ideas?! Thanks a million
