Not sure if people are still ordering stuff from this company but always pay by credit card to be confident of getting sorted.
You have full comeback if doesn't arrive, wrong item, broken etc.
Then just inform the credit card company, they refund you and they will either chase the supplier for you or take the money off him so they get their money back.

Does anyone know what courier delivers for Handy Hardware?

And do they have long delays in delivering at the moment like other retailers?

I ordered off them second week of April, package arrived yesterday so circa 4 weeks.

They use AN POST for delivery

Was the stuff you ordered all in stock?

I had been waiting for Lenehans to get on top of their orders because I’ve had a good history with them.

Never heard of handy hardware until this morning when looking at alternatives.

I’ve ordered from them in the past.

I think they are essentially dropshipping and hold no stock or very limited stock.

I wouldn’t be ordering from them again and I think if you search boards they aren’t well rated in many threads.

I ordered from Handyhardware at the beginning of April and goods got delivered with 5 days. Ordered again the second week of April (2 orders). Had tried to communicate with them every few days after 2 weeks of nothing, got an email saying one of my orders was cancelled last week at my request (not true) so I cancelled my other order with them - I won't be using them again.

They seem to be completed overloaded with orders and do not limit the amount of orders on their site so orders must be piling up.

With DIY stores due to open after the 18th, I would recommend holding out because at the rate Handyhardware are delivering it would be into June before (if) you received.

I would recommend Goodwins & Screwfix (if in your area) over Handyhardware.

So they are slow to despatch anyway regardless of any current situation?

    Okay.

I did a search but only found one other thread but no opinions on them.

I actually got an e-mail last weekend basically apologising for the delay and stating they were going to either dispatch my order or arrange a refund. Then on Tuesday I got an AN POST tracking mail.

I only ordered a single item (a hose) so it all arrived. What product are you looking for?

I would echo what mac 09 said, you would be as well waiting until the 18th at this stage.

Painting all the rooms and not a paint brush or roller in the house.

I have the free time now - won’t have that after the 20th.

I used them a few months ago, couldn't argue with their service. Website had a glitch, so I was waiting a few days, when I called up they had it sorted and my order was with me the next day.

yep , just been told my order will take four weeks to ship as awaiting stock .
Thats what i get for hitting the lowest price on google .

I find this more common on irish e-commerce site , that try to be bigtime but cant do it right .

Off to ebay now to order the item from the uk ... if the other one shows up at some stage it will be a spare .

I don't rate this company at all but in their defence a lot of goods come from the UK. There are delays from most countries due to Covid-19 but Brexit is worse. Took 4 weeks to get a Screwfix.ie delivery, 4 weeks & still waiting for viking direct. Another .ie website. I'm waiting over 2 weeks for a delivery from Germany via ups. According to the tracking its still in Germany. Some An Post deliveries are taking 5 to 10 days from one part of ireland to the other

Thats what i like about e-bay , it usually says like ... 150 sold /more than 10 in stock .
You can be sure it will be in the post tomorrow .

I ordered from handyhardware.ie the other day for an item listed as 'in stock' only to get an email the next day to say "there is going to be a delay of 3 weeks before we can ship the item as we are currently waiting on the stock to arrive".

Needless to say I won't be using them again - currently trying to get refunded with no response so will go chargeback route if this drags on more than a few days.

Yes , i bet they know exactly what they're doing ... they will continue to take our money to cover their overheads.
But they dont shii-t who they inconvenience along the way ... avoid avoid

Mean while my ebay uk purchase yesterday is already shipped and i have tracking .
Turns out to be a legit hardware store https://www.alanwadkinstoolstore.co.uk/

Please don’t use this company. I ordered an item from them online and was told 1/2 days dispatch. Then got an email saying it would be several weeks as item not in stock. Multiple emails back & forth as there was no sign of it turning up. Two MONTHS later and they are still trying to fob me off saying it’s on its way etc. The customer service person I spoke to this morning said she would check into it and call me back in “5 minutes” and 3 HOURS later no call. I told her that if it’s not arriving to my house next week that I want a full refund today - still no call back. From reading other reviews I think they are scamming people by selling items they don’t have, they never order from the manufacturer and hope you give up waiting. €30 down the drain 😡

They're not great. I got everything I ordered from them but only after hassle.

Can't even unsubscribe from their emails FFS.

This is the review I've been leaving anywhere possible and my recent saga with them.

If I could give this company zero stars I would. I bought a Makita tool bag online from them and this is how it went.

    - After almost 3 weeks I queried where my item was. I checked their website and my bag was in "processing". I emailed their company and the next day the status changed and was shipped soon after ~ I can forgive this, **** happens.

    - I receive the wrong item. A smaller makita bag I had no interest in.

    - I am told the item I ordered is not actually in stock and they've no idea when they'll be getting one from the supplier. Essentially they sold me an item they didn't have.

    - Upon flagging this with their company I am told by a customer service rep and then the operations manager that I have to do all the leg work to get a refund for the wrong item they shipped me while they sit at their laptops, taking 20 seconds out of their day to respond to me and I have to pay €5 for An Post shipping, find a printer somewhere to print the tag, find another box since I threw out the one it came in and then bring the boxed item to the post office to get my refund for their **** up.

Poor e-commerce business practices, poor customer relations. Avoid them at all costs or else pray you get the right item and you've no reason to contact them for after sales service.

Sorry to hear about that Charlow, I haven't bought from them in a while but I always pay by credit card and as a rule I always hold onto packaging and receipts for a while after receiving anything online in case a fault develops down the road and I need to return it. No connection at all with this company but I have had good experiences in the past getting stuff from them that I could not source anywhere else cheaper, guess I was lucky. On the whole returns saga I have had that problem with Screwfix twice in the past (wrong items sent, printing off labels hassle etc etc), I suppose it is one of the downsides of distance buying and selling! Better luck next time

This company is in admistration. Their site is still open to buy stuff and by coincidence, everything is on sale with great prices. I paid out nearly 400 euros and then get an email saying they have a supply problem. They wont answer phone

    I got this over email.

Unfortunately, due to challenging financial circumstances, Handyhardware.ie has had to enter the Small Company Administrative Rescue Process (SCARP). As a result of this we are currently not taking new customer orders on Handyhardware.ie but are contining to make every effort to fulfil your order.

Just coming across this thread but has anyone used Toolden before? They have a sterling and euro site and it seems like the tools are coming from the Netherlands. They seem to add a bit for shipping unless you order a few things and shipping stays the same. Needed to replace a few power tools so looks ideal and prices are very good.

Just google them. Don't think I'd be risking using them after reading some of the google reviews. OK so I know mostly people with complaints leave reviews but its the type of review here that looks bad with the reviewers not getting any satisfaction.

Keep an eye on Screwfix for their special offers and check Amazon and see what prices camelcamelcamel.com indicates you might be able to get the tool for if you wait for a price reduction.

Prices were good at handyhardware.ie and I wouldn't have used them for the same reasons.

Wake me up when it's all over.
