Maitland-Niles making his debut for Roma against Juve. Tough task facing Chiesa and co.

What a free-kick from Pellegrini. Roma 3-1 up on Juve.

Wow, left the room for some refreshments and it's 3-3. 😂

Now it's 4-3 Juve via De Sciglio. Poor from Smalling. Mental second half!

    What a game!

I'm actually stuck in Italy with covid and have been thoroughly enjoying the Serie A matches this week. A Juve fan - or maybe a Lazio fan - in the apartment block has been going absolutely mad the last 15 minutes.

De Ligt concedes a pen for handball and gets a second yellow. Pellegrini's penalty is saved by Szczesny. This game is great.

Full-time and it ends 4-3 to Juve. That was an epic that had everything.

I could think of far worse places to be stuck!

As much as I dislike Juventus it was absolutely hilarious to see the frauds face when the 4th went in. Long may it continue.

His record was poor, although he did have a tricky run of fixtures. Wonder who they will get to replace him.

Atalanta vs Inter ends goalless. Didn't expect that. Caught the final 25 minutes where Handanovic had to make a good stop.

Saw highlights of Venezia's draw with Empoli earlier. Didn't realise Nani had signed for Venezia. He got an assist off the bench.

Atalanta were all over the inter box for the first 30 mins too but never seemed able to get the shot off.

Big chance for Milan to go ahead tonight with the big Juve and Inter games coming back to back for them afterwards

    HT Milan 1-0 Spezia

Milan with most of the ball and chances but Provedal was playing a blinder in goals until he scuffed a backpass and gave away a penalty in the 44 min. Theo then stepped up and put the penalty wide.

Within a minute though Milan played a long ball out of defense to put Leao 1v1 with the keeper who he chipped for a goal

Absolutely awful awful referring in Milan

Shocker that he couldnt just give Milan the advantage

Terrible decision and now Spezia make it 2-1 in injury time.

Terrible second half from Milan. Looked in trouble any time Spezia made a rare attack and couldn't finish some great chances.

Good to see Calabria back and Rebic needs to start ahead of Diaz now that he is back. I doubt Juve and Inter are going to be too worried after seeing that game tonight

Reckon you'd have to be nuts to take over at Genoa, they looking completely Serie B bound

Shocked Milan lost that one. Apparently the ref has apologised and could be set for a suspension. Rafael Leao looks like he's ready to have a superb 2022. Very excited to see what he has in store this year.

It's a pity because I really liked the way he reffed the rest of the game. Took no nonsense from the players who fall over when someone just breathes on their back.

Milan shouldn't have been needing to chase the game like that in the first place though. Really thought Poli made the wrong changes too when he took off Leao and Saelemaekers.

God that was an awful match tonight and it's no fault of Atlanta with their injuries.

Inzaghi did some job with Lazio and they'd played entertaining stuff compared to Sarri

Milan vs Juve tomorrow is going to be fascinating. Juve are quietly creeping up the table.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,396 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

Anyone know why Serie A is taking a week break ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,396 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

That's what I thought but when I googled it all I got was a few random asian games.

I now see it's a window for non UEFA countries who still have qualifiers to catch up on

Hard to watch Inter creep ahead. Spiezas last minute goal felt like a punch to the gut. Milan needed to win this year to catch Inter in titles, as next year normal service will be resumed with Juve and their domestic consistency under Allegri. You can slowly see him get them back to where they were.

Apart from the outrage in Milan, I'm surprised there's not being more made of the San Siro being knocked down. Europe's most iconic stadium being binned. Irreplaceable stadium, absolute cauldron when full. Nowhere like it really

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,396 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

It's an absolute kip though. One section of the top tier is condemned and falling down. Having the stadia council owned was a disaster as the lack of funding has really left clubs with little choice. Best we can hope for is a new stadium but in the same location.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,785 ✭✭✭The Golden Miller

Ye was in it. Can nearly see the weeds growing. VIP seats and section even very poor. They said neither club will invest as the other will benefit, and the owners, the council, broke. When they came together, none can agree on how to renevate it. So this is the result I suppose.

A shame, nowhere like it. When you see a goal on TV, you can always see the rush forward behind the goal. Looks brilliant. The game v United in 08, the place was an absolute cauldron, very intimidating, United beaten before the first whistle, could see it on the players faces. Even from the TV, you could feel the stadium that night

Milan derby won't be starting on BT until 5.15 tomorrow. Stone age stuff. Surely foreign football shouldn't come under the English law of no football between 3 and 5.15.

Yeah I noticed that. Very frustrating since there's a lot riding on the game.

Looking forward to it. An Inter win would give their title hopes a big boost since they've also got a game in hand.
