Updated WhatApp now my chat history is gone, help!

As far as I was aware, my chat history was backed up to my google, as always.

Now upon 'restore chat history' only one chat is showing up when there should be more than that.

Anyone able to help?

That looks like only one chat. Are you doing this all on one phone, is there another handset that might have bulk of the messages you want on it?

No all chats were on the same device. All backed up ( As far as I am aware.)

Anything I can do? It's very slow to back up too.

Tried uninstalling and re installing whatsapp now it says:

Can't send an SMS with your code because you've tried register (my number) recently. Request a call or wait before requesting a message"

Apparently, I've to wait 3 hours before I can request another code 😭😭.

Is this standard procedure?
