There was a 3 part documentary on rte last yr "Dr Marie Cassidy casefiles" you might be thinking of that?

I think she's a great interviewee she always gives very detailed answers.

Great show, great guests. All totally different type of guests. There are undoubtedly so many great Irish success stories out there, like the singer, who the vast majority of people know nothing about so one of the great successes of this show is that they unearth these brilliant people as well as some 'ordinary' people who have had some amazing life experiences. Good to have the show back and I thought the music at the end was as good a song as I've heard from a new bacnd in a long time, must try and get to see them (de vagabonds?)when things get back to normal.

Is Barry not in the boxing game at all now?

He asked him twice what he does with his days now and no mention of being a boxer manager / agent.

What was the craic with that boxer before and the court case with Mcguigan?

The producers of the TTS have selected some excellent folk-tinged acts over the run of the show. For my own part I can certainly say that the show put The Mary Wallopers, Lankum and Daoiri Farrell on my radar. Farrell's rendition of Creggan White Hare - it's one of those times where a performer just completely owns a song, a bit like Paul Brady's treatment of Arthur McBride.

Also heard of Jinx Lennon from the show. That particular performance probably divided opinion a bit more, but I found him different in a good way. Kind of an Irish Billy Bragg.

Basically fighters were under Barrys Gym and then the Kinahans came along, bribed them with more blood money and off they trotted.

Any fighter worth anything they took.

I have a close friend and we discuss our emotions if there is something bothering us.

Maybe Gabriel lacks a close friend.

Byrne can be as pretentious as he likes, he wakes up to this every morning...

I don't like talking about people's appearences, but since I'm not saying negative...first thing I thought is that he looks younger than I remember seeing lately - I wonder if very subtle 'work' was done...but if not, all the better

I wish he'd ask about his film career.

This is a great interview with Gabriel Byrne. The quality of this compared to the Late Late Show is worlds apart.

That'd be a Tubridy question. If you've seen a good selection of his film's, that's his film career. He's asking about performance and motivations, that's more interesting by far.

When you consider this picture is between 40 and 42 years old, he's wearing well the same bollox.

I know everyone here loves the show but the tone of every conversation is like one at a funeral.

.....if RTE had any sense....they would ditch tubridy right now and replace him with Tommy ....

Add "single mam" onto anything and the middle age facebook mammies will lap it up.

Byrne definitely has that deep thinking actor vibe about him but one thing Ive always liked about him is his career, he was a secondary school teacher in Crumlin and didnt take up acting until the age of 30. Within 3 years of beginning acting he was working with Laurence Olivier and Richard Burton which is quite impressive for such a late starter.

The way things are now, people would give their left nut to be behind on mortgage payments. Impossible to repossess nowadays.

She's a lot more authentic and has a more interesting story to tell than Gabriel Byrne if you ask me.
