Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Without saying anything about the actual case, it is phenomenal that the gardai seem to have arrested the wrong person for the horrific and sad murder of a young lady yesterday.

They assumed they had the right person and released many identifiable details about the person including nationality, time in the town and previous issues - basically everything but his name.

Now THIRTY hours later it's a case of "whoops, wrong person"

    Fukin utter incompetence

    And not the first time.

    Absolute embarrassment

Hard to fathom especially as two women witnessed part of the attack.

    GUBU

  • Ah in fairness this guy was known to be trouble. In a situation like that you’re first assumption would be the trouble maker in town. Quite possibly the description initially given by those women matched this guy— or in the shock of everything their minds also turned to the local arsehole.

It’s one thing to cop it just over 24 hours later at least we’re not talking days or weeks later here, giving who actually did it more time to evade.

Id be hopeful there’s more evidence and people to come forward, an attack like that in broad daylight. Still stunned by the whole thing.

Seems a real balls up by the cops. Hard to know what happened and how they got it do wrong. The xenophobes who were jumping all over the man's nationality to push their agenda must be devastated.

OP I am sure you have no idea of Gardai procedures here. You also seem to fail to understand - when a thread gets closed do not start another which will end up like the first one.
