Without the PSC it's a pain in the swiss, with the PSC it's up there with the Passport Service for fast turnaround.

I had to get a replacement licence recently and you definitely don’t need a public service card or that mygov.ie thingy, a passport will do for id. Why do you think you need a medical report, did you need one the last time you applied for a licence?

it’s pretty easy, go to the guards, report it lost, get them to stamp the form and fill it in, make an appointment at your local NDLS office, bring the passport, evidence of your PPS number and evidence of your address, not much to it.

Ah yeah, they'll just hand one out while you wait. 😂

Medical report only needed if the requirement applies to you.

Passport, proof of address, proof of pps number (payslip or letter from revenue), declaration that it is lost - signed by Garda (bring id with you) and €35

Was there not a recent capitulation by government and in particular DEASP regarding the PSC requirement for none welfare related services 🤔

It was only a recent settlement , I understood the PSC card can still be used for online applications but an alternative to be found for other types applications, face to face etc , Might not be relevant to OP's current and immediate dilemma however 🤔

There was, it's been pointed out a number of times already in the thread.

You can apply online with the PSC (not sure in the case of a lost licence though), if no PSC card you have to turn up in person at a NDLS office.

You would want to get your affairs in order, not a joke, photo ID needed for nearly everything now.

It's not a capital offence, nobody's saying it is - but it's a document that you're only entitled to hold one of at a time, so if you lose one it has to be reported and recorded as lost before you can apply for another one.

Other than that, the procedure is exactly the same as renewing.

If it’s less than 12 months out of date, i think it’s ok for that job.
