Insulated board on a existing house.

Hi all we are renovating the living room and going to put an insulated plaster board on ceiling and inside of any exterior walls. House is a bungalow built in the 1990s , face brick, 100mm cavity, 40mm white polystyrene insulation, 100 mm concrete block inside. About 100mm fibreglass insulation on the joists. I was wondering what thickness of slab for ceiling and walls people recommend.

Did you ask the maker of the insulated plasterboard to do a condensation risk analysis?

Depends on a few things. It is really interstitial condensation that is of concern. Particularly if the wall is cold and you are creating a void between it an your new wall. I am not saying you get condensation there, just good to ensure there is no risk.

Yea I’ve heard about mould being a problem when “dot and dab” boards onto walls. I was going to just put them tight to the wall and fix using steel mushroom fixings
