Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi

Have an 09 Focus with the original radio unit. It doesn't have Bluetooth but the radio/speaker(if radio is on) will randomly beep and the display on the radio will display 'PHONE' when it beeps. Once the beep finishes, the display will go back to showing the radio station.

It beeps whether the radio is on or off and it could beep once every 10 seconds or once every 15 minutes.

I've zero idea what's causing it but it's starting to drive me mad

    Thanks

Sometimes the wiring loom for radios like this can contain a connection for an aftermarket phone-kit, a wire that’s connected to the phone-kit by the installer to mute the radio when a call comes in. This “mute” function is normally triggered by the wire being earthed. If the radio has a mute wire in its loom that is earthing itself, by touching any metal in the dash (or even the metal of the radio itself) it could present as a fault like this.

Get your local car radio shop to check the mute wire isn’t earthing itself somewhere behind your dash. The other possibilities include an internal fault in the radio which could be a little trickier to fix, but your local car radio specialist should be able to help you.

Thanks for that, much appreciated There looks to have been a phone holder unit previously which was since removed which is causing the problem. Will get my mechanic to have a nose
