I wasn’t positive so dunno if doing right but yeah I’d just try and get as far back as I could but easy to trigger gag reflex.

I'm sure you did it right. I think going back as far as you can is key. Then just keep an eye on the Control. I was very surprised my test showed up any result but it appeared very quickly and very strong.

Never had it, know loads getting it now. To be honest would rather just get it now, going to have to get it at some stage.

Our house is all positive. We all came down with cold symptoms on the 27th and 28th. All tested (antigen) on 28th and all negative. Tested again on 29th and all positive with lines appearing straight away. Again this morning.

None of us have had a temp. One has a sore throat and the rest of us have dry coughs. Myself and hubby had pains in our lungs today which freaked us out, nothing major, just unusual iykwim. I'm very tired on and off. So far so good in fairness, could be a lot worse. 2 others in the family have it and we have all been trying to get pcr tests since Tue and none of us have had any luck.

I'm guessing the numbers reported are far less than is actually the case.

I hope everyone is doing ok. Strange times indeed.

Currently isolating at home after testing positive the 27th. Question, if I test negative on antigen 2 days in a row (symptoms are gone) and my partner returns to our home (she has been with family) what are the chances of her catching it from the house? I.e. in the air, on the duvet etc.

Does it live on longer in the home even though you are recovered from it?

Finally got it after almost 2 years. What a non event. Headache and sore throat on first day of symptoms, sore throat/tonsillitis feeling since. Isolating away doing a bit of gaming, netflix and online shopping. To think there's people out there that want to close the world over this thing.

Started feeling the symptoms around Christmas eve - a lotnl of tiredness, red eye, slight confusion, tight/heavy chest, loss of smell and taste. No headache or cough.

Starting to feel better now and see symptoms improving.

If you clean up the place and open the windows you should be ok. Just a general wipe down should be fine after a few days.

A non event because of vaccinations and a milder varient . Be thankful it was mild

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

I had one Janssen in July so not exactly a great deal of immunity. No booster as I had an adverse reaction to the initial vaccine.

I'm young and fitter than the average joe so wouldn't expect it to floor me.

My antigen test came with a positive line then went negative I had a bad cough over Christmas that appears to have gone away today

Why would the test do that? I am positive or what?

You need to read the instructions on the particular test you got, the result is only valid for a set window of time, usually 15 minutes after you take the test.

Person in the house was showing milddle of the road cold symptoms over Christmas, with daily negative antigen tests during the peak symptomatic period, but a compulsory pre flight PCR came back positive, followed by a few positive antigens.

I'd been in close proximity with them for a few days, so when I started to feel a cold coming on I knew what way the wind was blowing. PCR results came back positive. Very mild symptoms so far, a bit blocked up and I had some lethargy the day before yesterday, but really quite mild overall, been double vaccinated since August and was due to get the booster yesterday, but cancelled it when I figured that there was a high probability that I actually had Covid.

For those who managed to get a PCR test, how long where you waiting before you got PCR results back ?

    @Arghus & @iamwhoiam , Where does HSE test or private ?

I had mine today at 11am , I imagine results will be delayed with the new year celebration and bank holiday. But hopefully I'll get something back by Tuesday.

Had the booster Wed evening and on Thursday afternoon, developed a headache and had an ache in my back

In case they weren't side effects from the booster, I took an antigen test yesterday afternoon which returned a positive result. I took 2 more antigen tests (two different brands ) after that. Both were negative

Had another antigen test today which was also negative but I do have some cold like symptoms. Stuffy nose, very slight cough. The headache and aches are gone though. Going to do another antigen test in the morning. Unsure what to think. Anyone else had a similar situation?

Good to know, That's where I got mine today. Thanks

Was in a similar position myself. Got the booster Wednesday morning and then got a positive (very faint line) antigen test on Wednesday afternoon.

Isolated after the positive antigen and had all the typical booster symptoms (sore arm, aches and pains, etc) Wednesday night and Thursday morning/afternoon. A light headach, cough and stuffy nose deleveloped Thursday evening.

Tested positive on a PCR test Thursday evening.

I developed a cough earlier in the week and did two antigen tests - one had a very faint positivity line and the other was a definite negative. After days and nights of trying to book a pcr test I rang the GP this morning and she advised a PCR she said that antigen tests are more likely to give a false negative than a false positive. Still waiting on the PCR appointment. At this rate I'll have reached the end of my 7 day isolation before I get the PCR result!!

can you keep picking up covid over and over? i had it in late july , but have been out in pubs the last week a lot, so said i would do an antigen tonight as im going drinking and backing horses tomorrow , to be honest i almost presumed i would have it but came back negative , im wondering did i have it a few weeks ago had a sniffle for a day or two? question is would you get it every few weeks if you were exposed to it?
