Watched it my self. Insightful but bleak at times.

It was good although I thought they could have easily done a couple of episodes or 90 mins eg on older traditions... then the post war and 80s. Or country / regional ones v city stuff.

It brought back a lot of childhood memories for me I have to say. As a 70s child we weren't accustomed to disposable income so it was nice to be reminded of such far simpler times.

It was excellent, wasn't it! I still remember going into town to see Switzer's windows- now it's just high fashion in the BT windows. Although Arnotts have been putting on a good show the last few years, which is good to see.

I have it recorded, and I'm looking forward to watching it now, wasn't sure if it would be any good when I set the timer.

Has anyone seen don’t look up on Netflix yet? I’ve heard good things and the cast looks amazing.

I watched that and thought it was fantastic, a real trip down memory lane.

Yeah I really enjoyed it. Although I argue their Yule logs were more Swiss roll than Yule loggy 😂

I watched it. Very good but somewhat bleak topic (the end of the earth). I need something lighter to get me through early Jan

Hardly watched any TV over Christmas. Got to see a few films, mainly kids ones, and a couple of things I had recorded that was about it.

From reading the RTE guide, don;t think I missed much that I would have wanted to watch anyway.

Safe to say tv was very poor this Christmas. One or two programs are all I recorded.

The TV offerings were poor fare truth be told. We recorded 3 or 4 bits & watched them over the last few days, watched a few bits on netflix and a couple of movies on sky, watched very little scheduled TV truth be told. Glanced at the RTE guide once or twice but that got binned without much fuss this year.

To me Christmas TV felt like a normal Saturday night tv schedule with a Christmas hint sprinkled on it. There wasn't much to it, watched all the usual annuals, Bake Off, The Great Big Quiz of the year, etc.

Other than that nothing to note.

Mad figures, I remember years back Eastenders on Christmas day would get 20m viewers!! Scheduled TV just not the same draw anymore.

We watched one out of those programs - strictly....other than that, we watched very little "live" TV...Netflix and Disney mostly. I did enjoy the Toy Shop program on RTE...but again watched it via the Player.

I tell a lie, I've just remembered that myself and Mr. CL watched the All Creatures Great and Small Christmas special on Channel 5 on Christmas Eve...it was lovely 😀 In fact, if you haven't been watching the new remake, I highly recommend it, it's really lovely, gentle, feel-good telly 😍

I remember watching the original with my Nan :)

I've got all the books...got them in the charity shop years ago...they are hilarious 😀

    Never knew they did books.

Some reason the Famous Five sprang to my mind when I read your post. Think I was probably reading them back at that time as well.

The TV series was based off the books by James Herriot...they are really good

Still have a few Christmas bits on the sky box I recorded and haven't watched yet. Probably be this years build up before I do now.

Same, is usually a movie or two that I never get to and usually end up deleting. Love watching the Christmas ads though if I do get round to seeing them.
