Water softener recommendations

    I am looking for recommendations on getting a water softener for my house in an estate. The water quality is terrible and there is limescale build up everywhere. I'm also looking for clean drinking water from the tap also.

    A few neighbours have got in EWT and no complaints so far seemingly but when I go online I see there is numerous other companies and not sure what I should be looking out for. I read somewhere about being careful about not being tied into having to get it serviced once a year.

    Where is the country are you?

    I'm in Meath & had company based in locality install 15L Mistral cabinet softener & metered Autotrol valve.

    It was slightly dearer than big brand companies like EWT but higher quality equipment IMO.
