Refund: Can the store give you this without you putting the card in?

    As per the title, I had to go return a pair of jeans today and asked for a refund. The store said no issue and scanned the receipt from the transaction through. Another one popped out saying nl accepted and they gave me this receipt which showed a -€XX (the amount due for the refund).

    I said that's odd as I never put my card on their machine to get the refund. They said you don't have to and it will go back on my account in a few days.

    They gave me the accepted receipt and said if it doesn't to come back in.

    This doesn't sound right. Thoughts?
