Ok, was contacted with an interview date (B&F). A bit confusing as it looked as if it was for the general stream, but it seems like AO candidates from whatever stream go through the same final interview format.

In my eyes it is so much effort, a presentation, followed by questions and then the actual interview. I wonder would I be better off just looking for an EO role where you just have an interview, no aptitude, presentations etc.

Not sure where you’ll find an EO role without an aptitude test and and an e tray? Probably just the same amount of effort

Hi. Did they give you a marking scheme before the interview ? I thought the answers were quite open . I have given official figures from the Revenue and Dept of Finance but it seems to me they marked the person rather than the content.

Note also if you're in multiple streams, the one interview/presentation at final stage will determine your OOM in all the streams you're a candidate in.

Has anybody been called for the general stream as of yet? If so, do we know up to what number, roughly, they have called?

Hi all! Did anyone who applied to this campaign apply for the Development Specialist Intern competition with Irish Aid advertised in August? Is there a thread that is specific to the Development Internship in the DFA?

Well, interview and presentation done.

The presentation was challenging, meaty topic to cover in 10 mins and kind of ran short on time. Follow-up questions weren't so bad. The interview was fair and thorough - tried to hit all the competencies with relevant examples but hard to know how it went. Just over an hour altogether

There were at least two boards on the go, so at least 50-60 were interviewed this past week (probably more as I only know for certain there were two boards). These were for sure General stream and Business & Finance candidates - no idea if HR or health streams were being interviewed.

No OOM after Sonru, just the score and people were called forward on the back of the score.

Interview was conducted via zoom.

The hour went very fast. They waste no time getting started on the presentation, straight into questions on the presentation and then that rolls into the interview also very rapidly. Very little chit-chat and all very structured.

I really have no idea how they took my answers on the competencies, everyone was very poker-faced and follow up questions were very open. I got the sense they were working to a tight deadline throughout the day and had another candidate in the chamber ready to go immediately after me.

Another odd one was despite being in the B&F stream, the civil service board members were from unrelated departments.

Thank you protoman for that, I contacted PAS and found out that only 45 were called for general stream and anyone who scored above 189 in video assessment was called for interview this side of Xmas. They are hoping to call batch in late January for interview, so hopefully I get on that cos I narrowly missed out on this one 😢
