Sold car, book sent off, but no change of ownership

Well,

I sold a car on Sept 23rd. Sent off the book, but it hasn't changed ownership.

As such, the new owner is racking up loads of M50 tolls in my name.

I've emailed the Tax Office a few times now, no response, and I've lost all details of the new driver, and he's swearving my texts and calls.

Can I just report it stolen, and hopfully the new owner will cop on? Seen as it's still technically my car.

You cannot report a car stolen that is not actually stolen. That will just get you in more trouble that the guy driving around in your old car.

There is alot of this going on these days where ballbags are giving false names and/or addresses to a seller so that they cannot be linked to the car or logbook. Always a good idea to get them to produce their driving license and make sure it matches the name/address they put on the change of ownership.

Did Shannon receive the VLC at all? You can check online - Motor Tax Online
