Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

MHRV vent room positioning

    Hi all, I'm currently in process of new build that will have MHRV system. Suppliers were there weekend installing the ducting.

    I notice in the living room areas they have the vents positioned in areas where there will be a couch / seating directly underneath. I'm a little concerned that there may be an airflow coming down from these making it uncomfortable to sit there. Am I overthinking it....

    We never had a discussion with Builder or MHRV installer on where vents would be located in the various rooms, but mostly they are centred or off centre in the 2 rooms where we also have a pendant light. We haven't had any issues with a noticeable airflow or breeze being felt when sitting, but our system runs on speed 2 (out of 4) and I never increase that speed as the air is fresh and house feels well ventilated. It's possible to close those roof vents, but probably not a good idea to do that really.

    I know our system was usable before the final plaster boarding etc was done, so perhaps you could have opportunity to test it before plastering is done? You could always just ask them to move it now, would be a messy job to contemplate in the future.

    Same as previous, no noticable issues here either.

    I wouldn't be too concerned about the living rooms where other noise will distract from the airflow noise but I definitely wouldn't want an air outlet over a bed -- there is/are air flow noise from them -- thats unavoidable but in the summer you may want to increase the fan speeds to maximum and that would be very irritating over a bed.

    Thanks for replies above. I was more concerned about the airflow movement. Just thought it might be annoying, I never even thought about noise 😩
