How to pair phone with puegeot 2008

Hi all,

im trying to connect my fathers Haweii P30 lite to his 2021 puegeot 2008.

I have plugged in a data cable from the phone to the USB on the dash and in the infotainment screen I select sources.

I have tried to select the USB option but it is ghosted out and unselectable.

The ultimate aim is to have google maps on the infotainment screen.

Any ideas? Also can this not be done wirelessly?

Probably a French thing. Have you tried opening the boot and turning on the wipers while you try to pair?

Yes and the bonnet whilst standing on one leg wearing a red jumper.

Made no difference.

Have you paired the phone to the bluetooth so it works as a phone through the car?

Yeah phone is paired via Bluetooth. Calls can be taken via the car.

To get Google maps from the phone to display on a car screen you’ll need Android Auto compatibility, which the car probably doesn’t have…

Should a 2021 car not have android auto as standard? Honest question I’m not sure.

also if the car doesn’t is there a workaround?

Depends, would usually be part of a “Technology pack” or suchlike. There’d be an “Android Auto” icon on the Home Screen if it is.

There’s all sorts of kits available to give Android/CarPlay functionality, but they require hardware installation…
