Yurt or cabin?

    Hi,

    I'm looking for practical ideas for temporary dwelling.

    In the middle of my farm, for myself, as a herder, 9 months of the year, March to October, maybe 2 days a week.

    I'm not a fan of mobile homes or caravans. I'm thinking more along the lines of Yurt or timber cabin, ready made.

    What are the constraints?

    I'm aware of a 25 sqm rule.

    Toilet and electric would be required

    There is no such 25m2 rule. If your living in it, it needs planning. Plus planning for domestic waste treatment.

    mobile homes are the easiest to:

    1. source
    2. get permission for (due to their temporary nature)
    3. resell for minimum depreciation

    plus they are specifically designed for temporary living

    timber "log" cabins are designed to be more permanent, and thus have better living standards (while still not reaching proper building regulation standards for houses)

    however they are more expensive, harder to resell and lese likely to be granted permission (due to their less temporary nature)
