That’s awful defence from Murray. Whatever about the gap presented to Argentina he has to make that tackle.

That all came from a poor box kick again and more slow play from Murray.

Good man Porter, did just enough to disrupt. Never give up - will be putting that in to gif format and showing it to the kids at training.

How was the Montoya latch a penalty but the VDF one wasnt?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,165 ✭✭✭mangobob

That's 13 points now that Argentina have squandered.

Crowd is poor. Just having chats during the kicks. Doesn’t seem like any atmosphere there.

Ah use your eyes, Lowe was there to take the tackler and turn him on a plate for our forwards... had some forwards got to the ruck. The following box kick Lowe got a slight bump chasing it and had to check his run and still nearly got there to contest

Jaysus these are big big hits going in.

    Brilliant stuff Doris! Balacoume!

This was a big test for Murray and it has to be said it looks like it’s all but confirms his time should really be up now.

Lovely try for Doris. First time in a while they got the speed at the breakdowns and look what’s happened

Caelan Doris. Wow. Hope he’s alright after that.

Argentina are mediocre as a collective but as individuals they have some danger-men so we must not lose our concentration.

That's some power from Doris. Double tackles by two Argentinians but spun through it.

    That was a great finish.

But Ffs Murray!! Lavinini able to line up Carbery and smash him.

Carbery did really well to get the pass away.

The Irish pack is sparingly good in openplay, its like a backline!

Ryan off with a HIA. That's his fourth or fifth in a year.

    Disaster.

I wonder how many people will mention that try coming directly from a box kick ...

Great take by Lowe tbf - don't know how Doris absorbed that hit either. That was ridiculous.

    Lovely bit of tempo.

Doris and Balacoune both brilliant there. Some great hands from Ringrose in the buildup too.

Now that was a great try there - for me most impressive as the close-handling passing was amazing - the sort of move that would have broken down long before the line with a knock-on in the past.

No arms from Matera on Doris for the try

What's worrying about Ryan there is that I don't think his head made contact and just the impact itself was enough...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,119 ✭✭✭UAEguy2020

Ryan is off, Baird is on I'd presume.

He got lucky. Slow and box kick to death is caveman stuff. If his pack wasn't so dominant he'd really be in trouble.

Casey much more suited to the way we're trying to play.

Eire lucky the Argies are pressing the self destruct button

Matera lucky with that hit on Doris, was a dangerous one. Not even a hint of a wrap, just a shoulder charge.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,701 ✭✭✭theVersatile

Strange lack of clock awareness there, but Joey slowly starting to find a bit of a rhythm. Still very indecisive at times but getting some food purchase off the boot

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,896 ✭✭✭lawrencesummers

Murrays slower than Jgp, but its his and carberys decision making in attack thats the biggest difference between jameson and johnny.

murray / carbery dont always attack on the side they should, are slower to identify opportunity and seem to be taking the ball because to take the ball as opposed to taking it knowing whats going to be done next.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,119 ✭✭✭UAEguy2020

They always do, that's why I was so confident of a win. On paper they are actually a good side and would worry me but as a collective they are horrendous, we saw what they were capable of last season. Supposedly Ledesma is gone after this so we might see a resurgence next year.

One example does not redeem him. Box kicking has been very mixed and his passing is too slow.

Wasn’t that big an impact (relatively speaking-says me from the couch!) I wonder if he got clipped in the clean out by one of his own players
