Yeah it was difficult and i always think of more things I should have said.So hard to know . Wonder if there will be another round after the interviews are done. This is different from previous competitions.

Doubt very much there could be another round. Interview is always the final stage. If interviews still ongoing this week will be another week or two for results.

Can I ask for which panel people are interviewing? I had an interview for the data panel on 29th September and still haven't heard anything, if they're still interviewing for this panel I could be waiting another while.

I’d guess the results will be out soon enough, I think the current panel expires on the 28th.

I interviewed for the accounting panel.

It will be a few weeks before interview results are sent out as only finished interviews last week.

    Tomorrow maybe??

Nothing yet. I was thinking the end of November? Hopefully sooner rather than later.

I was told a few weeks at end of October as interviews had just ended.

    Results are out!!

Just got my results. They give you your place on the countrywide order of merit for each panel you applied to but don't break it down by location.

Does anyone know how many people they tend to hire from these competitions (from the Dublin law panel in particular)? I'm happy to have passed and would be delighted with my OOM placing if it were the general Civil Service AO competition, but given the specialist nature of the panel I'm not confident that there's much chance of their reaching me before it expires.

I’m so delighted to have passed. Hopefully there is a big recruitment drive now!! 🎉

On this, if anyone's interested, they apparently took in 48 new AOs in 2020 according to their annual report. So, unless recruitment has been ramped up since then, or is set to be ramped up, I'm guessing that my status as number 20 on the law panel means my chances are not exactly amazingly great, haha.

It was mentioned that there would be more AOs appointed going forward in place of EO's so hopefully that is true! Placing high on county panels will be required

Does anyone know of how many could be take on from the economics, statistics and data stream? And could you end up in any of these three disciplines? My qualifications are in economics, I've placed in the mid twenties and am waiting to hear from panel placings my OOM for my county, they seem to take a long time to get back to people.

It really depends on your location choice, my understanding is that the data panel wouldn't be needed in some locations ie no vacancies for that type of role etc

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,748 ✭✭✭Flippyfloppy

Thanks for the reply. Is there any where we can find out what posts are in what counties or do we have to wait until panel placings come back to us?

  • Registered Users Posts: 373 ✭✭Ollie321

Unfortunately it's a waiting game with panel placing

Unfortunately it is not possible to know what counties have jobs available in each stream. Most listed would have accounting and taxation but only certain ones would have jobs in law or economics stream. A lot of previous applicants that obtained a one or two OOM overall in their chosen stream never got offered a job as the counties they picked had no vacancies in their stream. When applying locations available for each stream should be listed seperately very unfair.

Hope it is some of the cities you applied for!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 85 ✭✭MiggyB

If you applied for Dublin or some of the other cities and people ahead of you have chosen locations where there is little hope of jobs in that stream you could be lucky and get called sooner than you think. It all depends on your location chosen.

Couldn't agree more with this! It is unfortunate to go through the entire process be placed in the panel and a position doesn't arise in your chosen location as that role isn't there

  • Registered Users Posts: 85 ✭✭MiggyB

All those with overall OOM over 10 or even 20 at least should be offered a post. If it does not suit can refuse but should get an offer after putting in the effort and for achieving a high OOM. I know of individuals with OOM 2 nationwide never were offered a post even....absolute disgrace to be bypassing the best candidates for the job...

    Location placing received today

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,748 ✭✭✭Flippyfloppy

I got my placement too! Should we have our own thread to discuss placements etc

  • Registered Users Posts: 85 ✭✭MiggyB

Dont think so all part of the process!! Did anyone ask when offers would commence

  • Registered Users Posts: 373 ✭✭Ollie321

Some offers have been made from this panel already...
