    Got winter tyres on today. Put the original fronts and the rears together side by side one on top of the other. Rears are an inch or more higher. Does that make any difference to anything?

    Both are marked 225/55/18

    More than likely it's just that your front tyres are more worn than the back tyres. There's more load on the front tyres with the weight of the engine and stress steering so they often wear faster than the rear. Nothing to worry about.

    You'll also get some slump in the tyre wall on the front tyres due to the weight load of the engine.
