Considering changing from Virgin to Pure. Question about contention ratio's and FTTH

So I've been with Virgin for a goof while now and have got good service. However I feel I can get better value (I'm paying €66 for 240 download). I've always gotten close to 240 so its been pretty reliable.

However I can get 500 download from pure (FTTH) at €35. One of the selling points of Virgin back in the day was no contention, is there much contention with FTTH, how much of the 500 Mbps do you actually get?

I have pure 1Gb siro and wired, I do get a very consistent 800-950 down. Mostly above 900.

I'm moving from pure to sky next week as pure had no great retention offer.
