RTEs new Sunday night drama starts on Sunday, 7 November at 9.30pm.

A routine raid sees Detective Sergeant Emer Berry of the Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) expose a link between the Brannigans, a wealthy Irish family, a stash of rough diamonds and a series of deadly bombings in Belgium.

Written by Peter McKenna (KIN, Red Rock) and Morna Regan, Hidden Assets sees Angeline Ball (The Commitments, Keeping Faith) reprise her role as Detective Sergeant Emer Berry from Acceptable Risk, alongside Simone Kirby (His Dark Materials, Jimmy's Hall), Wouter Hendrickx (Blackout, Cordon), Peter Coonan (Love/Hate, Cold Courage), Cathy Belton (Red Rock, Miss Scarlet) and Michael Ironside (The Alienist, Angel of Darkness).

This is good timing as it starts the week immediately after the finale of Kin. The cast looks interesting. I remembered Acceptable Risk after I double-checked! It was okay, but I would hope this is better. It is kind of odd to have this one character connection with a drama, which on paper seems to be quite different. Still, looking forward to it.

It seems to be going to be shown on Acorn TV, a part of AMC, not sure if RTE will show it first or not, doesn't seem to be any US start date.

Looks like it will be on RTE first, can't see any mention of it being shown earlier anywhere else.

The trailer has been shown so many times now that that it is burned into my brain. Angeline Ball's acting seems atrocious - Fair City standard. Did anyone else think this or just me?

RTE were advertising their drama with a Kin themed ad up until last week, with EJS in a bar witnessing a deal/kidnapping then getting shot by the gird at the bar

This week it has changed to a Hidden Asset themed ad, this time EJS is in an office being raided by CAB and someone gives him laptops to dispose of before they are seized.

Monkey and deleting messages storyline not too original both recent in real world. I expect next the sub aqua team to have to dive in the back garden pond.
