Hi guys. I know this is a long shot but does anyone have an idea what clour dye was used for the mortar in this picture. Its 10 years since to job was done and i cant remember. I need to remove some bricks to access stove flue and will have to relay the a section of the brick. i remember white cement was used as well.

From the photos it looks like it could be made up from a gold, washed, beach sand and white cement, perhaps a little lime. Only add regular cement to make the mix more grey. I put minimal pigments into mortar as they can stain the bricks. Its a good idea to take the time to do some small test mixes & let it dry so as to gauge the ratios of materials needed for matching the colour.
