Yup. I'm aware. I just threw it together before work this morning. I've it sorted a bit better now - they're loosely set in order of when they were added

I have ionity city north alerts set up on my plugshare app and I get notifications "all stations at city north in use'. This site only has 2 chargers and one is often broken. I know plugshare API is private and pay, so getting data that way may be impractical but can we get data some way from ionity, particularly for that site and does Tesla have info on charger status available, particularly the new ok be in tralee with only 2 supercharger connectors ?

I thought this had it, but it only tracks new stations and not up to date status

OT, but it's interesting to watch the map timeline, there's a lot of gaps in western Europe have been filled in over the last year and a half

Stats I'd be interested in will probably never be seen. Like how many faults have occurred over an 8 year period from 2013?

How many charge points have been abandoned and never replaced?

How many charging bays have never been painted to tell people they are EV bays?

How many mother boards have been taken from CPs to fix others?

Why in N.I. you could count the repair technicians on one hand, who have to keep many hundred points serviced?

Any why with a big surge seen recently of new EVs on our roads, the infrastructure has never been less fit for purpose,

    Glasgow, bla, bla,bla?

I could probably get the overall % of time all units have been in fault, but I think you might just be having a rant rather than actually wanting those stats.

Plugshare is only as good as the users who contribute to it. I wouldn't rely on it to give me a good picture of the state of charge site.

I've never looked into ionity stats to be honest. They typically have 4 units to choose from and are big money so chances are they're available. I did try easygo but intercepting packets on my phone from the app was giving me a headache so I stopped trying.

Would I have you rebrand the site if it wasn't just ecars-stats? Lol

Thanks for that,I think if folk and ministers were made aware of the stats on CP faults, they'd know why people like myself would , with great regret and 8 years torturous experience advice people considering going electric, to forget it for at least another 5 .

Call that a rant if you like, it's more serious than that.

98.326%of people don't believe in statistics!

Ionity has some sort of live link to plugshare app, so it's not only user input, it's real time charger status from Ionity. Dublin City North is a good example as it only has 2 chargers yet a prime site. I can see both are in use with plugshare alerts.

I see google having live status on Ionity maybe it is easier to pick from there. Unlikely to see something like that for Tesla. Maybe after they open the network?

Easygo is on etrel platform https://etrel.com/ocean/app/# if that's of any help

I know you've explained the algo to get to the z values but I can't find it. If I want to calculate the average utilization of the sample weeks displayed the total figures in the 2d table divided by 7*24*100 should give me the number. Like Templeville total amount is 5481 which yields 33.62% or Stillorgan P&R 7247.8 -> 43.14% ?

... yes... That sounds right. Though there's a timezone bug I think, hence the zeros at the right side of the table.

Trying to get you that stat dynamically created for each search. Gimme a sec

I've the data, now I just need to display it in the UI. I'll see can I give it some time over lunch

Sorry about the slow turn around. I got something together on the test site (http://test.ecars-stats.com/). It's the average number of hours a day the plug selected is in use (I feel hours is a bit more relatable, since you can say "That unit is in use 9 hours a day, but that's probably mostly daytime charging, it must be a busy unit).

I was hoping i'd be able to break it down by unit speed, but I don't have that data readily available for the site. I really just wanted to point out the lack of use of the 70kW CHAdeMO plugs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,161 ✭✭✭innrain

Thank you. The hours in use are an aggregated value for both CCS and CHAdeMO plugs?

Say we look at Stillorgan Hotel 9.51 h CCS and 9.50 h CHAdeMO. Is the difference just a rounding error and 9h30' is the actual average utilization in 24h period of the DC side of the charger?

  • Moderators, Paid Member Posts: 11,715 ✭✭✭✭Black_Knight

CCS and CHAdeMO can differ. The best example I can give is whereby someone is plugged to CCS but finished charging. CCS isn't accessible to anyone, but CHAdeMO is. Thus CHAdeMO is in use less than CCS.

Added average hours in use per day to the main site.

Thinking I really want site to be linkable, rather than always point to https://ecars-stats.com/ and having to find your charger.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,161 ✭✭✭innrain

    Stillorgan P&R is 10h this month, Lucan 10h2'0min Airport 11h20min, Clonshaugh Road 12h 😳

50% utilization. Probably because the Blanch is down for the last 4 weeks. That's mad

  • Moderators, Paid Member Posts: 11,715 ✭✭✭✭Black_Knight

Woah! Pretty much flat out for hours on end at times!

  • Moderators, Paid Member Posts: 11,715 ✭✭✭✭Black_Knight

Tiny addition - Where I added the hours of daily use, I now state the number of plugs that usage is across. So Mayfield with it's 20 hours of CCS usage a day is spread across a potential 7 plugs.

Date added its hardly relevant to user, its the fact it is there and operational is the key :)

Hope the site is of some use to people over the holidays!

Really want to change the site to be able to link directly to charger locations, rather than just to the https://ecars-stats.com/index.html homepage.

Is this working any more? I just tried it and there are no chargepoints listed in the dropdown and if I type in a location like "Dublin" it doesn't find anything.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,788 ✭✭✭dloob

It seems to be a bit unwell alright, none listed for me either.

Is there any chance we could sticky this thread as it's a very useful tool for checking chargers?

Thanks Amazing Raisin, and everyone who's supported the site. I really appreciate it, and the feedback (positive and negative) on the site.

Little to no time to develop much more on it of late, even the simple things like a table of busiest sites in Ireland. Apologies for that.

@Black_Knight this looks to have gone mostly offline I guess? Was hoping to help my wife plan her journey to Belfast - this was certainly a useful tool even if it was limited to ESB chargers. A really hard problem to solve in one's "spare" time though :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 7,172 ✭✭✭zg3409

Ni is a disaster. See reviews on plugshare app for each charger. Aim for non esb pay chargers such as Ikea 50kW, lidl 50kW etc.

  • Moderators, Paid Member Posts: 11,715 ✭✭✭✭Black_Knight

Sorry about that. Not offline, but just the api timing out. Gotta find some time to delve into it and see why it's happening. Back end isnt under pressure, API isn't under pressure, resources are all good.

I bumped the number of threads it can handle, and set debug logging. If/when it happens again, don't be shy to call me out on it and i'll have a look.

    Apologies again.
