I recently bought a 171 Corolla Luna 1.33. Can't find anything in the manual or elsewhere re the light (small circular yellow-tinged light) which is at the base of the rear-view mirror. It can be switched on and off. What is it for - it doesn't add light to the interior of the car but I presume it must have a purpose?

    Thanks

It's the anti-daze funtion, with it on it will stop cars lights behind you blinding you.

Normally it is for auto dimming. When driving at night it will change color slightly so the lights of the car behind dont blind you

Very good - thanks very much - that clears that up. Trying to find anything in the manual is trying to look for a needle in a haystack e.g.'child locks on doors' is found in the Index under O for 'Opening Closing and Locking the Doors'.

If you want the correct name for it, it's called an electrochromatic mirror.
