Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Crowley getting a start, nice.

  • Feel a little sorry for Flannery. After being an un-used sub last week, you would expect him to get minutes this week.

Liking the look of the replacement front row.

The rotation and selections this season have been great.

Crowley has a massive opportunity now.

Beirne selected at 6 is wise to keep him versatile.

O’Mahony making way at 6 to move to 7 is interesting, also keeps him versatile.

O’Donoghue at 8 at last, his remarkable athleticism will shine there hopefully.

Good to see Hodnett back, Achilles reconstruction was a very difficult injury to overcome.

Would be interesting if Gavin Coombes came on at second row but would expect not with Beirne able to shift in there.

Liam Coombes gets another chance to impress, likewise Gallagher.

Daly will be keen to perform well after his exclusion from the Irish squad.

De Allende and Murray will each get a few minutes hopefully to re-familiarise with the team.

19 for Ospreys is Jack Regan, son of the Offaly hurler, Daithí.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,038 ✭✭✭TomsOnTheRoof

    Crowley very impressive so far.

webb being allowed a fortune of time at the back of rucks.

That’s a frustrating penalty, warranted of course but 2 phases earlier when Casey tackled the prop, the support runner flopped over to seal preventing Wycherley/Beirne from getting at it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,038 ✭✭✭TomsOnTheRoof

Agreed, also the Osprey's loose head went straight across on the last scrum.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,043 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

Poor from Munster to reverse the penalty

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 160 ✭✭NotCarrotRidge

Ospreys are not all that great, but Munster not figuring out the ref at all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Didn’t see much from Loughman to reverse it, munster need to be squeaky clean with her now. Instead they’ll probably double down on their stupidity

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Any reversal there, no? Of course not. She’ll chase one no doubt to even it out.

scrum was a joke, Ospreys loose head went straight across almost immediately.

  • Registered Users Posts: 104 ✭✭joedamuss

Munster playing shite, only positive so far is young Crowley, we might have to get the cavalry on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,142 ✭✭✭OldRio

Watching the game on Prem Sport. This commentator is wrecking my fecking head.

Munster need a collective kick up the hole at half time. Ospreys should be put to the sword.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Penalty from the kick off .. Jesus wept

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,043 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

Doesn't look like half time team talk was that effective

Silly penalty and a turnover within the first 2 mins

    Munster need to wake up

Coombes and DDa on 50 mins please….

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

whats the most phases Munster have gone through? Can’t be more than half a dozen.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,386 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

    This is a hard watch.

Munster a shambles so far. Ospreys are very poor and there for the taking but Munster are shocking in attack and discipline is very poor.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

props need to be changed now, that front row won’t change her mind on anything. Cut them loose.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,043 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

    Big try

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,386 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

    Seriously powerful maul.

Big kick ahead and calm heads from the restart hopefully.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,043 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

Very poor from Casey just after the try

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Passing has been muck all night.

Ospreys have upped it since Munsters try.

Need a bit of luck now.

Looking like being 8 down with 9 to go

    Long way back from there

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,401 ✭✭✭FrannoFan

    Ospreys 7 been very good.

Ospreys hands been good, munster winning physical side of it.

    Been intriguing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,043 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

    13 penalties conceeded

You won't win many matches like that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Que the usual “we have to learn to be better” rubbish from JvG and POM, they deserved to lose last week, the Stormers almost caught them out a few weeks back. This has been coming and it’s fully deserved.

A box kick in the middle of the park with less than 5 minutes left and 2 scores needed..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,043 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

    100%

I was at the match last week and it was very poor performance

    Haunted to win

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,043 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

    Shambolic performance from Munster

    Handling terrible

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,043 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

Could they not have kicked to touch from the penalty?

    Very long kick from here

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,154 ✭✭✭✭Neil3030

Really liked what I saw from Crowley but yeah... not a lot else...

    Terrible performance. Room for improvement.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

    Hodnett was back too.

Wycherley got through a ton of work again. He’s completely under the radar but he’s turning into a player.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,142 ✭✭✭OldRio

With 10mins to go. 2 long range pens kicks and a 'drop goal' A number of box kicks as well.

    That was muck by Munster.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,188 Mod ✭✭✭✭Cookiemunster

Got exactly what we deserved out of that. Shocking. And Murray should be nowhere near the Ireland 9 shirt on that performance. Whatever chance of a comeback ended with his boot.

I'm depressed after that. It was coming, but bloody hell, that was as bad a display as I've seen. It seems that we have regressed badly under van Graan. Is it true that they're looking to give him a new contract? Hope I'm wrong about that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,426 ✭✭✭KaneToad

A lot of poor performances. Some terrible passing, receivers reaching over their heads or reaching back for the ball.

Big players like Beirne, POM, Conway didn't make much of an impression.

Ref made up her mind very early on about the scrum. I thought the front row (Munster obvs) should have responded accordingly to change her mind.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,822 ✭✭✭Jump_In_Jack

Lost count of all the errors, but more errors in one match than in the last four put together.

    Crowley was outstandingly good.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 10,623 Mod ✭✭✭✭aloooof

Really, really poor fare tonight. Inaccuracies killed us.

Conceding penalty’s right from kick-off in both halves puts you on the back foot immediately.

Two 50/22’s in the first half wasted by 1) losing the line out and 2) Casey throwing a forward pass after Coombes overran on first phase. Add in the disallowed try, and those errors in the first half cost us. Really cheap opportunities to be coughing up.

Must’ve been a high error count for JOD 2nite which is unusual for him.

Over-turning the scrum penalty on Loughman seemed particularly harsh for the kind of thing you see multiple times in every game.

Scant positives, but Crowley the obvious one. Especially defensively, he was superb.

Tadhg Beirne continues his excellent form, with good heavy carrying, footwork and passing tonight. Ospreys did a good job at keeping him from competing at their breakdown.

Keynan Knox with some strong moments, would like to see him pick up more minutes. (And I’d have Archer ahead of Ryan on form tbh)

Overall, that’s a disappointing end to that set of fixtures and it’s not about to get any easier after the Autumn Internationals.

Got to watch most of the game just now. Not a great performance from Munster, Ospreys looked to have got the jump on them - had a degree of edge that Munster didn't find until too late. Munster clearly the better team but didn't impose their power and fitness on the game.

On the flip side, it was a good example of taking available points leading to winning games, Ospreys decision making spot on and probably the difference in the end. Didn't see all of the game beyond that, no doubt Munster will react to it, pity it's a few weeks before that chance comes however and the team Ireland participants would benefit from a big turnover next week if a fixture was available in the URC before the internationals.
