Nobody here would salute a screen shot of a president mocking a disabled reporter, it's insane even to think that.

Obviously I'm exaggerating, but people here will defend that action, won't they?

Talking about other posters as if they're beyond help and skipped school every day, simply because they disagree with you, is also insane to think.

No it isn't. I'm talking specifically about a poster who has been talking stalking me on Boards for months, and I am stating a fact and not an opinion. And I'm also talking to posters who have thanked posts by that poster, being full aware of that. As long as he is trying to own the libs, he 's a good guy in their books.

Those other critically thinking Republicans on boards that you think left, because they are embarrassed. Where more than likely banned.

No they weren't, they are not in the banned list.

I don't think I've ever seen a more narcissistic personality than your good self.

Yes you have, there happens to be quite the big narcissist that you're a fan of actually, I'm surprised you don't like me tbh.

Here's a question for you and the boards mods. What if all these posters are right about Joe's mental health and he does step down? Are the mods going to unban those that they've banned and will apoligse for claiming they're uneducated?

No, because they're taking guesses about someone's health without having any background in medicine. That is why they are correctly banned.

Here's a question for the mods. Can we ban posters for supporting a racist, incompetent, unqualified, arrogant, narcissistic, man child?

As for Joe's policies every single thing he has touched has turned to crap.

The border, the vaccine mandate, his infrastructure bill, Afghanistan, jobs growth have all turn to crap.

Biden has only five policies? News to me. Would you like me to list his all of his policies so I can demonstrate to you that what you just stated is bullshit?

So, not what I have posted is not bull crap, and you have instead made several objectively false statements.

Biden doesn't do something - "Biden is weak"

Biden does something - "Biden is losing his mind"

Sums up your ramblings pretty well.

He said he went to the border too??..

And Psaki clarified today saying he drove there campaigning in 2008?..

    This is the biden thread..

But "the radical left maniacs on the view"..

    "The world's longest funeral "..

    The man is funny..

I'm open minded, maybe you can tell me one thing he has touched that hasn't turned to crap.

He also said he rode the amtrak for 36 years after his wife and daughter were killed as vice-president.

But I guess that's just his stutter.

    Sometimes standing is just standing.

Except in some weird people's imaginations.

What exactly is "up" do you think?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,141 ✭✭✭ceadaoin.

So you've seen the clip and think it's perfectly normal behaviour and anyone who thinks otherwise is the weird one? Lol, ok 👍

“probably the greatest diplomatic gaffe by any American President in modern times”

    Rambling nonsense is more apt.

    Oh, no problem.

    • he reversed the Family Separation policy
    • he restored the National Security Council Directorate for Global Health Security and Biodefense
    • he introduced the American Rescue Plan Act
    • he rejoined the Paris climate agreement
    • he reached his target of 100 million vaccinations in his first 100 days
    • he resumed diplomatic ties with Palestine
    • he reversed the trangender miltary ban
    • he ended the war in Afghanistan

If you'd like me to list some more, do let me know.

Pretty good for his first nine months in office I'd say. Very little golf in there too.

Do you have any comments on the objectively false statements that I called you out on or would you prefer to ignore them?

But you haven't seen the clip. You've seen a purposefully edited clip that starts at the specific point for the purpose of an agenda.

Why don't you post a clip that starts 30 seconds earlier?

Oh, the far right tabloid **** sites that you read don't include such clips? I wonder why? Would you like me to help you find such a clip?

Jen Psaki is earning her pay these days with regards clarifications.

Biden supporters reduced to repetitive insults because this gaffe is inexcusable.

At least the Irish media give it coverage.

Don’t expect to see any analysis in our media although, if Trump had said this as President, there would be legions of commentators telling how Trump is a threat to world peace.

I’m grateful he was elected as environmentally he’s

    Stop the Keystone pipeline

Stopped drilling in the Arctic reserve

Protected the Tongass forest from destruction

Expanded national parks to their original size (Bears Ears & Grand Staircase)

Restored full protections for Northeast Canyons and Seamounts Marine National Monument

Nothing in this comment explains why you don't believe what Biden said is a "strong" statement.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,781 ✭✭✭Cody montana

I never even heard about it till you posted it.

Was it headline news, did it set social media on fire?

Nope, only faux outrage from the usual suspects.

Also what other political gaffes is it comparable with?

A shred of consistency would be appreciated from you lot.

“Monday: Biden is too weak on china.”

“Tuesday: I can’t believe Biden stood up to China.”

    Which is it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,116 ✭✭✭Melanchthon

No problems with Biden saying something like that as long as he is saying it for a reason and accelerating measures to do just that before he says this stuff.

He's not though, that's why there was a quick roll back. Compare arm sales between Biden and Trump to Taiwan, both were pretty good at it but last years under Trump sold a lot more.

If Biden means what he says he should be emplacing Marines before he says it and so on, if Biden doesn't mean it that's a good example of why maybe a gaffe prone old man shouldn't be president.

The US have carrier groups close enough to Taiwan to react. There is no legal mandate or a request from Taiwan to place marines there. Even if there was, that’s not how a war between China and Taiwan would be fought. It’ll be fought in the air and sea first, which the US is perfectly placed to react to. They sailed a carrier group, including Royal and Australian Navy destroyers between China and Taiwan last week.

Which is why China won’t invade Taiwan. Which is why it’s perfectly sensible for Biden to say the US will defend Taiwan. In effect they are already defending Taiwan.

I get updates from a crisis team in Taiwan twice a week, they are spooked right now. China are flying bombers and fighters in their airspace in record numbers. Biden needed to say something to soften their cough.

Wow, I thought Bidenistas grateful to me for drawing attention to this important declaration by President Biden regarding his highest foreign policy priority I.e. China. But you seem uninterested in his unexpected declaration that America will to go to war with China if it attacks Taiwan.

Hilarious that you take the low-key media coverage as a measure of its importance, rather than a measure of the Biden Team’s embarrassment- “nothing to see here, folks, no change in our policy, now move along.”

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,781 ✭✭✭Cody montana

Where did he say he’d go to “war” with China.

You people get more hysterical by the day.

The potential for the worlds two biggest superpowers going to war wouldn’t be headline news?

Again, what other political gaffes is it up there with?

At a CNN town hall event, a participant referred to recent reports that China had tested a hypersonic missile. He asked Mr Biden if he could "vow to protect Taiwan", and what he would do to keep up with China's military development.

Mr Biden responded: "Yes and yes." He added there was no need to "worry about whether they're going to be more powerful", because "China, Russia and the rest of the world knows we're the most powerful military in the history of the world".

He was then queried a second time by CNN anchor Anderson Cooper if the US would come to Taiwan's defence in the event of an attack by China. Mr Biden replied: "Yes, we have a commitment to do that.

From the BBC report I linked to.

Or do you mean that when the President of the United States says the US has a commitment to come to a country’s defence if they’re attacked, that doesn’t mean the US will fight a war in their defence? That would make for a lively discussion at the next NATO Summit!

2nd time, where did he say he was going to “war” with China.

I’ve given up asking the other question, as you won’t answer.

In order to that a state of emergency would need to be declared. This is much trickier for the federal government than a state or local government.

Lets be honest it isn’t a good thing for a POTUS to declare a state of emergency so easily.

Good point. It's not a national emergency if toy delivery is delayed. And, this isn't Ireland the US Federal government can't really push the states around, they need to ask for help.

He repealed the law which banned transgenders from joining the military.

Only if legally able to do so. If the State law says that local zoning regulation is the purview of city governments, then it would take a change in state law to let Sacramento override the city, a change I doubt would meet with much support.

That's not what's causing the problem and it's not just long Beach Port having issues. It is creating an issue dealing with the backlog though so luckily the port of long Beach have waived enforcement of that for now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,172 ✭✭✭Caquas

to repeat myself, a commitment to defend Taiwan if it is attacked is a commitment to go to war against China if it attacks Taiwan. What else could it mean?

The only Presidential gaffe I can recall that rivals Biden’s was Gerald Ford’s comment in a TV debate with Carter in 1976 that “There is no Soviet domination of Eastern Europe, and there never will be under a Ford administration.”

Bush I puking into the lap of the Japanese PM was more spectacular but he was not delivering a diplomatic message (or was he? Americans were fixated on the huge trade deficit that grew in the 1980s. Paging Dr. Freud!)

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 23,220 Mod ✭✭✭✭Brian?

How is committing to defending Taiwan, a policy since the 50s, a gaffe?

I would've said trump directly contradicting his intelligence agencies in saying in Helsinki in 2018 that Russia didn't interfere in the 2016 elections would've been bigger
