When do we expect New Zealand tickets to go on general sale on Ticketmaster?

  • Probably never to be totally honest. At most I could see a handful go on public sale the day before but between the clubs, IRSC and individual Supporters Clubs, Vodafone pre-sale etc. I don't see where they will come from.

Not at all as unlikely to be any returns from clubs, schools, provincial supporters club, Irish supporters club etc

    https://www.irishtimes.com/sport/rugby/international/irfu-inform-fans-that-attendances-may-be-limited-for-november-tests-1.4690961

"If a capacity of 100 per cent is permitted for the three November tests, then the remaining 25 per cent of tickets will most likely go on sale through Ticketmaster, as that would be the most effective way of selling and distributing them in the relatively limited timeframe."

  • They have managed all their ticket sales through Ticketmaster for the November Internationals this year. A friend of mine got his through a club, he supplied his email and what tickets he was after to the club, the club relayed the information to the IRFU and he received an email link to log in and pay for those tickets.

I don't think the Irish Rugby Supporters Club have done a lottery (yet) and I know the clubs were told they would receive an extra allocation if capacity was 100% as what was allocated to them was a reduction on previous years.

IRFU Supporters Club presale now listed on Ticketmaster - scheduled for 11am on Tuesday…

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 444 ✭✭RCK1

    Doing the same!

Also has anyone heard anything about the Leinster season ticket or IRFU supporters club lottery?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 193 ✭✭TCPIP

I got an email from the OLSC saying that they don't receive any international tickets so God knows how they avoid that one.

Has anyone received an email from the supporters club with a link or password yet? If it’s 11am on Tuesday, given the bank holiday I’d have thought they would have been sent today?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 14,311 ✭✭✭✭The Iron Giant

Nope not a sniff from them.

In fairness that would be for Fiji not NZ but I get your point.

The only reason the IRFU have such inflated prices is because they know they'll sell them, if people didn't pay it they'd be forced to drop them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,053 ✭✭✭antfin

It's simply business! The WRU is selling tickets for a 74,500 capacity stadium to a 3.5 million population compared to the IRFU selling tickets to a 6.8 million population for a 51,700 capacity stadium. The demand is definitely there for the tickets in Ireland and at the end of the day it's a professional game now and making money from crowds at live games is a major income generator. I'm not sure whether the pricing for the New Zealand game is sustainable for other high profile game such as England and France etc. only the attendance at games priced at that level will answer that question!

As I posted earlier, I've paid £100+ for a nothing special seat (upper tier) in Twickenham and Cardiff for 6 Nations games so the idea that it's an IRFU thing is wrong.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 43 smokybacon

What also might be significant is they are playing nz, oz and sa!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,190 ✭✭✭Digifriendly

Prices for NZ game are exorbitant. Business or no business. Its a rip off. I'm not sure what the situation is south of the border but here in the north gas prices are through the roof and many are struggling so 2 of my friends when they enquired about the price gave up any idea of going to NZ game.

Folks is it worth a newbie signing up to the supporters club or is it too late. If i paid the 50 quid will it guarantee me a chance of buying tickets tomorrow

I would guess too late as the emails have been sent out with unique codes.
