It can take a while (into a couple of months) I’m still waiting on a different panel myself - some seem to have gotten emails and some calls.

I believe its going to be around €409 a week if a person has the usual tax credits

So I've been coming out with €380 a week might have messed up my credits

I know a lad that was a CO years and years ago, left the CS and came back as a Service's Officer. He says the only comps he can apply for internally is Customs, which is very limited. You also have current CS staff and some assigned to customs apply also, so you are competing with experience.

So once you are a HSO, that's it unless you are very lucky to apply for a Customs role.

If you take the CO, after 2 years, you are eligible to apply for internal and interdepartmental comps for EO,HEO,AO, even AP as far as I know.

While HSO, might give you short term gain (€160), you need to look at the longer picture

Looking at the scales below, the scale for HSO, is shorter, so you will reach the max quicker at €775.61, for CO it will take longer but the max is greater at €787.52.

I included the Higher Scale in there also, what this is, is a internal mini competition usually at District level (they might say there's 2 positions available), where you complete an application form to say you are the greatest thing since sliced bread and the top dogs will discuss the applications and you may or may not get it depending on who's applied and how many. These comps might come up only every few years, it's not something I would get too hung up on.

This is a good point. While the work of HSO would be fairly straightforward. I'm not sure I want that to be the end point in my career path and I don't want to close off or delay other options.

Hi guys. I have an interview for CO tomorrow. Anyone know what departments people are being sent to?

I have just received a message in my message board asking me if I am interested in an interview for my chosen county. Can anyone tell me what this means? It’s not an invitation to an interview but an expression of interest. I’m a bit confused

From what I remember when I received this message I had to reply "Yes I am still interested" and also had to upload a copy of my photo I.D. You should then receive an invitation to interview and a CV type application form to fill out and return.

No problem. I just checked and the I.D. upload comes later when confirming attendance once they have sent you a date and time. Best of luck with it all.

Hi all, I received a message on my message board at the start of September to say I have been assigned to a position in Revenue and that the personnel section would be in touch shortly. I didn’t hear anything so sent a follow up email a few weeks later but didn’t hear back from that either.

Has anyone had any experience of how long this can generally take? Any help appreciated thanks a mill

Revenue are hiring a good few over the coming weeks. Again unsure of your area etc, this is Midlands / South I am on about.
