Hi all,

Insulation spray foaming a floor from underneath

    Is it possible or has anyone had it done, whereby a floorer went into the large cavity below a suspended floor (via lifting a few floor boards to allow access) and spray foamed the underside of the floor boards? Rather than having to lift all the floor boards and spray foam which would be a considerable body of work in my house.

    Is such a method even possible or advisable?

    You'd need a pretty deep cavity to make it feasible, the Americans often have deep "crawl spaces", what sort of depth are you dealing with ?

    Thats before you even look at why type of foam (open/closed) as suspended floors need air due to the area being (potentially) damp.

    I'd take it that open foam would be used if there was dampness or the potential of dampness?
