    Hi everyone,

just got oil after not using boiler since march, all 5 radiators upstairs are cold after an hour of using the boiler and the upstairs hot water tank is only 35°.

All radiators downstairs are fine and bleed normally. I can't get any of the radiators upstairs to bleed.

The pressure valve beside the hot water tank is on zero but I don't know if the valve is actually working or what to do with it if it is.

Is this something I can fix myself (if so how) or do I need a plumber?

    thank for any help

Open this valve and try get that gauge to 1 or 1.5.

Your expansion vessel might be damaged. If it is, your pressure will drop back down after use.

Also ensure 1/2" red wheel gate valve above it is opened, then shut after use.

Ok the valve is working, just took a few hours to show the new pressure reading. I'll have to make a few small adjustments over the next day or two to get it set correctly. Thanks very much for your help
