AI upscaling? Some find it meh, I love it though. That's If you mean upgrade to the pro, don't think the tube has it, but open to correction.

Well it works very well on my not strictly legal streaming apps. Turns pretty poor sport streams in to decent ones. Definitely works on Netflix and I think, Prime and Disney Plus, not sure about YouTube.

Also, I said in a previous post I didn't think the tube version has ai upscaling but I think I was probably wrong about that.

The Shield does the same things as the Firestick. Only faster, with a better remote, and without the Amazon apps being installed by default. Sideloading is available of course, and it has the fancy 4k up-scaling technology that does a good job for the odd stream you cannot find at that resolution.

I also use it for the Nvidia GeForce Now gaming service. I'm a casual gamer, and couldn't be bothered buying a gaming PC, XBox, Playstation etc. I got in at the early adopter price, but it's very handy for being able to buy a PC game and have it stream at pretty high settings down to the Shield. Not all games are available, and I'm not sure how good it would be for games that require extrememly low latency. Works perfectly for me though.

Now im really hooked. Is there much difference between the basic model and the Pro version? Have a gaming PC thats beginging to show its age.. Might upgrade next year but is the Shield Pro something I could use to game on with keyboard and mouse. Sorry if its a silly question...

One reason besides the obvious is the bloody controller( Xbox type one not the smaller) on the 17 model will give up and die as mine did( expensive replacement) I’m referring to the latest shield

Thinking of getting a shield pro for Iptv + maybe some retro gaming, (Mame),

I have a decent iptv supplier but it stutters every now and then on my mag box.

having had many boxes to date I did'nt really want to part with €200ish untill I was sure,

any advise would be great, please.

Tivimate works very well with my Iptv and my shield pro. With regards to retro gaming ETAprime on YouTube has done loads of reviews on a lot of different emulation on the Shield.
