Rear extension with no back access

Hello, looking into doing a rear extension but we have no back access at the end of the garden. There is an enclosed side passage but it’s not large, like the height and width of a standard front door. Alternatively things can come through the front door and through the house (we’ll move out while work is being done). And I suppose there’s the option of a crane but I imagine that costs a fortune!

Just wondering if anyone can advise on the likely extra costs associated with having to bring things through the side/front or use crane? It’ll be a largish single storey extension, around 30m sqr.

    thanks in advance

Very hard to quantify but not unusual to extend an existing house with everything going in and out the existing front door! Usually means extra labour, like hand digging foundations, carting in stone/concrete by wheelbarrow, etc.

@docarch Thanks - in fact we have a side passage which makes life easier. However it is narrow and you wouldn’t get heavy machinery down it if required.
