Goats for vegetation control

The lane up to my yard is 400 metres in off the road. It’s all hardcore with a drain on one side for over half of it. I’m sick of spraying it every year. I’m putting sheepwire along one side of it next year. I’m just wondering if I had a few goats would they be fit to keep it clean instead of spraying? I know I’m mad but shure what about it. They use goats in lots of places to clear/control vegetation, they're being reintroduced to parts of Iberia to eat down the fire loading and in Norway they graze them under power lines to control saplings.

At first glance, I thought the thread title was "Goats for vegetarian control". I thought it was a great idea. I had visions of goats butting vegetarians back into their paddocks if they strayed.
