Eir router query - splitting 2.4/5ghz

I am moving house shortly and will most likely be getting Eir broadband due to lack or choice more than anything. I currently have Vodafone and they have introduced their 'super wifi' nonsense to the router where you can't split channels. Does the latest Eir router do the same thing or am I free to set the channels as I…

By default Eir do the same (on my router at least) but workaround in the thread below.
