You could give A&R supplies a call, ask for Brendan and ask if he could give a recommendation.

The difficulty with it is and a few of the other enquiries on this thread is that I’ve probably got less than two hours work for him now & another couple of hours after the tiler is finished, they are a bit like super models these days, don’t get out of bed for less than 10K

I had the same problem, possibly even less time required - zero interest. They do make very good money, some of it is even taxed :pac: Anybody good with their hands, and not wanting to go to third level - an apprentice plumber is not a bad shout. It can be quite physically demanding though, especially as you get older.

Let Brendan know your issue, chances are there'll be a lad hanging around in the store he might put you in touch with. But, regardless of time, it'll still be aminimum fee.

Would you consider artificial grass, AFAIK it can be fitted directly onto your existing concrete, so would eliminate possible expensive excavation work, considering it myself but it will be next year for us as doing other stuff this year.

Yea that is what I have decided to do but I have a few other bits that I need done out there. So was hoping to get someone in and get the other stuff done.

Need some spraying with systemic insecticide (probably one of the more unique requests on this thread).

Got a garden with multiple shrubs and trees.

Discovered a bit late that sooty mold was developing.

In short sooty mold is a symptom of infestation by bugs, in this case I believe it to be scale bugs.

They produce honey dew when sucking the sap out of plants / trees and this causes sooty mold to develop.

Trying the DIY / Woodies solutions but might need heavier artillery as the infestation is moderate.

Pest control companies seem to specialise in non plant bugs.

If anyone knows of anyone travelling for work who needs someone maintain their home?

Looking for recommendations for a stove installer, would prefer recommendation to come from work done by them for you rather than "My buddy installs stoves" 😁 Thanks!

Looking to get the bathroom/en suite renovated and can't get a call back for love nor money, anyone know anyone worth trying?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,837 ✭✭✭✭phog

I've booked Bathrooms4U. When I rang them to get a cost they said it would probably be September before they'd be onsite but that was dependent on how quickly we agreed an estimate then an on site meeting at a tile shop to pick out tiles, etc and agree a final cost and now my date for completion is for November.

I don't think I held them up so I'm assuming they're way behind in their schedule.

The one thing I like about them is that they the full job, strip our old and replace everything with new.

    Hi,

Looking for someone to repair/replace a sofa strap (elastic webbing). Kids jumping on the sofa and one of the three straps snapped, on just one section of the couch. My section!

Small job, so hoping it can be done in my house.

    Thanks!
