Presumably, a punch up on a pitch - either between players or players and spectators on the side-line - is as unlawful as one outside Supermacs.

So - has there been any convictions for assault or anything like that in ireland in recent times? Has anyone been arrested after or during match?

I think when they all agree to fight then it’s ok. Like a boxing match.

I didn’t see any of the Laois lads trying to get away.

of course , in fact a wicklow ref actually called the gardai recently
