Eyre Square - sewage/drain strench

Ola!

What's the story with the sewage pipes and smell in the city? Recently started working in an office just off the square and by god the stench is unreal at times. I remembered today how zhivago in Eyre Sq closed up maybe about 15yrs ago for a bit and think that was due to the smell/sewage pipes problem..any one else remember?

I'm reading reviews of hotels off Eyre Sq where people complain of the stench too.. doesn't seem to make a difference whether it's sunny or rainy. Today was almost unbearable in work. Anyone shed light?

It was better for a while, but yes the smell does seem to have come back worse lately.

There was a story a couple of years back from the Shop St area about large 'fatbergs' blocking sewers. I'm assuming there'd be a stench from those. Plausible to assume similar issues in other parts of the city given the amount of restaurant and bar waste going into them.

I do remember this. Was any work done on shifting the one on Shop Street do we know? Shop Street, Boots, around Brown Thomas... this is down by the Meyrick too.. This stench is likely something not shared by the previous tenant of the property/agency as it's not something about the property if you get me! Gross nonetheless 🤢

I assumed it was fixed as part of the drains replacement works done from around 2018 or 2019 for the year or so.
