Recommend laptop for college around 500

Hi,

Could anyone recommend any good deals on a laptop for around 500 (may go a bit over if worth it). 14 or 15 screen. 15 might be preferable.

Only real use is Microsoft Office / watching lectures online, no games or anything too intensive.

this is good value for £579

better metal build, 16gb ram, decent 11th gen i5 cpu with improved XE graphics, bright screen 15 inch. still portable weight of 1.7kg overall

worth it over the poverty spec options (plastic creaky build, poor dim screens, under-powered cpus, low ram) in Irish shops going for €600

a bit of extra outlay will easily pay back over the years of use

Hi @glasso ,

Could that be better than this (AMD R5 8GB). I got that about a year ago, and a button has stopped working so I can return for refund or replacement. Am wondering whether to get the same laptop again or chance it up?

the cpu is a good bit newer on the Asus and it has 16gb ram and a better screen.
