Destined? I think he's already hit it acting wise, if he's in something I'll give it a watch

I only remember him from Ill Manors. Loved that film, even though it didnt warm to the critics I think. Have seen some other films apparently with him in it, but dont remember him - Bourne, Nightcrawler.

Must watch Sound of metal. supposed to be good.

Think Ill give city of tiny lights a go tonight, Love those London gang type films.

I'd love to see him given Bond. The perfect choice imo.

Caught this yesterday; it's on Prime now for anyone who had this one marked for viewing...

I think the back half lost a good bit of the energy and momentum created at the start, but the emotional punch remained throughout, thanks to the three lead performances alone. Riz Ahmed was, as usual, magnetic, but the two child actors were phenomenal; it's debatable whether the movie would have worked at all were both children not so natural, so properly childlike in the face of adult crises - all in a manner many productions struggle to emulate. It was a great looking movie too; full of wild, lonely spaces, contrasted with claustrophobic close-ups of insect-infested interiors: this was not a film for anyone with entomophobia.

    Re the ending:

The reveal that Malik was "only" suffering from a severe bout of untreated PTSD was a little glib and convenient - but the clues were there from the start, so I didn't feel cheated either. It didn't really matter in any case; that wasn't what the film was about - not really. The final shot, of father and son embracing in a desperate & loving hug, lit by a helicopter's light in the manner of a UFO abduction, was just beautiful.
