How to stop pop up notifcations for new posts?

Im constantly getting large pop up notifications anytime someone posts in a thread i started some time ago, its a right pain, how do is top this?

If you click on your avatar at the top right, click Edit Profile, and a small menu down in the bottom right of the page should appear. Click on Notification Preferences and remove the tick from the "Popup" box beside the "Notify me when people comment on my discussions" option. I believe this will only work on the Desktop version of the site at the moment, but I could be wrong.
