Python selenium webdriver...how to get elements row and column number

So i get my element in a table by knowing its name And i want to click something on the same row. But i dont know what row it is on. Is there a way (codewise) to find the xpath to deduce the row number? Or even just outright get the row number

Depends on the structure, but you likely don't want the row number. You want to use relative navigation.
For example, say your HTML is:
<table> <tr> <td name="test"></td> <td> <a href="toclick"></a> </td> </tr> </table>
Assuming you are looking relative to test, you could identify the <a> tag with the XPath:
//td[@name='test']/../td/a
".." is the XPath for "go up a level"
