I heard that right at the beginning.It was supposed to indicate (or at least I interpreted it that way) that damp climates like the West of Ireland should be unfavourable to transmission.

Haven't really heard much along those lines since.(could try and hunt down references if you would like)

There is this link I found from December last.It seems to support the use of humidifiers so long as things don't get too humid.

Still,I have heard very little since and perhaps the science is not strong or it is not a tactic with a good return on the effort required.

Will keep searching.There may be other and more recent references to the subject.
