Here is a legal conundrum that I challenge you to solve:

If John owns a 200cc motorcycle and holds a valid learner permit for categories AM, A1, A2 and A, which IBT training and test category can John complete using this motorcycle?

Google search the RSA's "Representative vehicles for the driving test (PDF)".

It would be A2 if it's powerful enough, but since we don't know John's age he might be too young. The bike isn't big enough for A and is too big for A1/AM.

He's better off hiring a bike from his ADI for his IBT and test, then he can ride his bike.

A2 is a minimum 245cc, it's not possible for John to do the IBT with his 200cc bike.

Per my original post, John has a valid learner permit in every category.

As the poster below you correctly states, for A2 the bike must be at least 245cc.

So he can't use the bike for IBT or the test, which is why I said hire an instructors bike
